About Us

The Microbial Bioprocess Lab (MiBioLab) is a spin-off project of Research Centre Jülich, funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the European Union within the framework of the Start-Up Transfer.NRW program. Having started as a Helmholtz Innovation Lab, MiBioLab has been offering bioprocess development to industry as contract research services since 2018.

Our USP is our automation technology platform, as well as the in-depth expertise in microcultivation and data science. Pilot customers value MiBioLab as a trustworthy partner that has delivered valuable bioprocess insights and data, which have proven highly predictive during scale-up. Our long-term vision is to provide comprehensive biofoundry services from strain design to a scalable production process.
